On My Mind...
Don’t forget the “Thanksgiving Offering.” This will be given to Church Inside Out at Red Fork as we partner with them meeting the needs of folks here on the Westside. They have an on-going food pantry, as well as other outreaches to folks in need. Over that last month they provided evening meals for many affected by the government shutdown. Your gift will go to meeting needs right her in our own community. Thank you for your faithfulness. Also, I’m glad to report that the money from the mission fund and special offering for Nicaragua totals $4479.00! That money will go to support the Home of Protection in Nicaragua, as they serve young girls who are the victims of trafficking and abuse. Thank you for giving to this worthy cause.
Our Church Study Team met this past Sunday evening for our first working meeting. We got off to a good start. Please pray for our team as we work through our constitution, by-laws and church covenant. It’s time, after 30 years, to look at these documents and make sure we are clear on things. We will be making copies of our current documents available to all who want them. We will also have “listening sessions” where we can hear from you. We of course, will provide regular updates so that you know where we are in the process. Thank you for your prayers.
Hanging of the Greens will take place on Sunday evening, December 7. We are looking for families and individuals who will help decorate during that service. This is a wonderful beginning of the Christmas season with music, Scripture reading, and decorating. If you are interested in participating talk to Russell or Rheadon and let them know of your interest. There will also be a fellowship after the service, more about that later.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we gather for worship. Have a blessed week!
