On My Mind...
Well, we had several out this past Sunday due to spring break but we still had a good crowd, and wonderful worship. I’m enjoying our study of the book of Acts, as we consider the on-going work of the Lord Jesus through His Church. This week we considered the need for boldness in evangelism. Next Sunday, we will consider the origns of the office of deacon from Acts chapter 6. On Sunday evening, we will continue to “think about the church,” as we consider what it means to be the church. This Sunday we will consider our ministry and our motivtion. I hope that you will join us.
Please continue praying for our team in preparation for our mission trip to Nicaragua June 9-16. There is still time to sign up if you would like to be part of the team. That deadline is April 1, so if you are interested talk to Nathan or Maryem and they can give you all the details. Also, continue to pray for our church study group as they continue to work through our constitution and by laws. That works is moving along and I appreciate the men who are prayerfully working through our documents. We are having some good discussions and I believe you will be pleased with the finished product. Also our building and grounds committee has a work day coming up (more details to follow on that). They have noted various things that need to be done around the church. Pray for them as they evaluate and be watching for the opportunity to join them in the work to be done. Good News Club is having a good year. Continue to pray for Karen and the team as they take the gospel into Robertson Elementary each week. Pray for open minds and hearts to receive the message of Christ and for opportunities to minister to the families of the kids in GNC, and faculty and staff at Robertson. Vacation Bible School is not that far off. Further, it is never too soon to pray for those who will be attending and those who will be working VBS this summer.
Easter is just around the corner. You will be hearing, in the weeks to come about our Good Friday service and our celebration of the resurrection of our Lord. We’ve had a number of folks dealing with sickness over the last month as well as those who have experienced loss. I would encourage you to send an email, text message, card or note of encouragement to those whom the Lord brings to mind.
Have a blessed week, and I’ll see you Sunday.
