On My Mind...

To trust is a sovereign God is to trust the “Hand of Providence,” God’s invisible hand in all things.  There are no accidents, there is no such thing as “luck,” rather our good and sovereign God directs all things.  That’s easy to teach, believe and trust when things go according to plan.  It’s when blindsided by the unexpected, we sometimes struggle.  I mentioned Sunday, there are so unexpected developments reguarding our planned mission trip to Nicaragua.  Due to some things in country, we may have to pivot.  This could mean a change in the nature of the trip (what work we will be doing), it may also mean a change in the timing of the trip in order to meet the demands of the trip.  We did not get the answer we had hoped to get in the meeting on Monday.  We are working under a deadline, the organization we are working with says they need an answer this week!  Our team will be meeting tonight (Wednesday, April 15) to discuss their options and to pray.  Please pray with us about this critical need.  Pray for wisdom and discernment on the part of our leadership and those we are working with.  This comes as a surprise to us but not to our God!  He opens and closes doors according to His will and we rest in His guidance.  We will let you know as soon as we know our next step.  Thank you for your faithful prayers and support.  We trust all things work together for His glory and our good.

Don’t forget, we have a work day scheduled for this Saturday, April 18.  We will start at 8:00 am.  We have several projects and your help would be greatly appreciated, whether that means all day or just an hour or two.  We have a couple of doors to replace on the youth house; lots of bulbs to replace and some work on fixtures in the fellowship hall, the library; some water damage repair in the basement, some suspended ceiling to install in the basement and some closet clean out.  Thank you again for your help.

On Sunday morning during our service we will here a report from the Gideons International.  You will be given the opportunity to give to this worthy work of Bible placement around the world.  As you give just make sure you use an envelope and mark it “Gideons” so that we make sure it is accounted properly.  If you give by check, make the check to Trinity and we will give them one check totally the entire offering.

Have a blessed week and I will see you Sunday.
