On My Mind...

I trust you have a pleasant, restful and safe holiday weekend.  Most kids are out of school, a few will be finishing up this week, that means it must be almost time for Vacation Bible School!  Pray for Karen and Liana as they lead and for that army of volunteers as we gear up for a great week.  Of course, pray for the kids who will attend, that their minds will be open and receptive to the gospel and that fruit will come as a result of our labor.  There will be a meeting for VBS workers this Sunday, May 31, immediately following the morning service.

Also pray as we are just days away from our team leaving for Nicaragua.  They leave two weeks from today.  Pray for their safety as they travel as well as safety while on the field.  Pray for the girls and children at the Home of Protection, the youth who will attend the camp, our crew as they work at the health clinic, various projects at the Home and for the evangelistic efforts throughout.   If you were not here Sunday or did not get a chance to pick up a prayer card and bracelet, they will be available Wednesday evening and next Sunday.  Please understand, you are part of the team.  Just as much as those on the field in Nicaragua.  All the effort extended on the field is powerless unless the Spirit of God moves.  This the point of our praying.  We know that the people will be served and helped by those who provide medical care, as repairs are done on the Home, giving kids an opportunity to enjoy camp but we want to see more than that.  We want this to make an eternal difference in the lives of those we touch.  So, pray that our gracious God will use our team as an instrument in His hands.  Pray for the outpouring of His Spirit on those to whom we minister.  Pray through the names and the projects listed on the prayer card.  Pray for that individual on your bracelet.  If you do not know that person, talk to Maryem or Nathan between now and the time they leave and learn a little about them.  Thank you for your faithfulness in giving and praying.  Thank you for being a vital member of the team!

We are meeting this evening with leaders from other churches in our community as we work together for the good of our community.  Our big effort will be the annual back-to-school event in which school supplies are giving to students.  We will begin soon on collecting for that, stay tuned for more information.

Have a blessed week and I’ll see you Sunday.
