On My Mind...
Can you believe that we are looking at August? Where has the summer gone? It is only a few weeks, and school will be starting again. One of the things that means is that our nominating committee is beginning their work. Pray for them as they seek to fill spots for the coming year. Pray about what role(s) you can fill. Don’t just ask yourself, “Is this something I could do?” Ask, “Is there a reason why I shouldn’t do this?” May your default be, “Yes, I’ll serve!” My point isn’t that you should do everything but rather, as part of the body you should be serving somewhere. If not, why not? You are part of this body called Trinity, if you are not serving, the body is hindered in some way. Healthy bodies need all of its parts functioning. Where are you serving?
Don’t forget our commitment to August 8, and the Westside Give-back. We’ve committed to 30 backpacks and we are almost there! We have 20 of the non-clear and 12 clear bags. We just need 3 more. Thank you for your faithfulness. If you have not given yet, if you want to get a clear backpack for a junior or senior high school student, please bring it by this next Sunday. If we end up with more than we needed, not to worry they will be used.
Of course, this also means we are close to our report service by our Nicaragua Mission Team. That will be on Friday, July 31. We will have a wonderful time hearing from the team and then fellowshipping together afterwards. Make plans now to be here on the 31st at 6:30 in the worship center.
As always, I hope you will join us this coming Lord’s day for worship. We will continue through the book of Acts Sunday morning and then Sunday evening we will continue our look at the Apostle’s Creed.
Have a blessed week and I’ll see you Sunday.
