On My Mind...
In Sunday’s worship bulletin (October 4) you will find a deacon nomination form. You will be given the opportunity to list men whom you feel are qualified and set apart by the Lord to serve our fellowship. For the last two weeks, we been giving you information and asking you to pray. Now we are asking for your recommendation. Who is it the Lord has already given to us as servants? Again, our part is to recognize what the Lord has already been doing in our midst. We do not “make deacons,” we recognize them! Who has the Lord called and equipped? Once we receive those nominations, the deacons will begin their part of sorting, training, interviewing and then coming back to the church for the final recommendation. Your nomination does not guarantee service but begins a process. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
We had a good meeting last night as we walked through our proposed New Constitution. We got good input and there will be adjustments accordingly. Thank you for your input! Continue to pray for the study group as they continue their work. In a few months we will be meeting again to advice you of our progress.
Also, be in prayer, Good News Club start up this afternoon (September 28) at Robertson Elementary. Pray for our workers and that the Lord would be gracious and produce fruit from our labors. Also, we will be feeding about 200 students/faculty and staff lunch on Wednesday at TCC Downtown. Prayer for those who will prepare and serve. Then on Thursday we will feed the Webster football and cheer team prior to their game against Berryhill. Thanks to Jerry and Lisa Scott and their crew for a wonderful job!
I look forward to seeing you as we gather for worship on Sunday. Don’t forget, it’s First Sunday, that means lunch together after service and we will celebrate the Lord’s Table in worship Sunday morning. I will see you there!
