Welcome to Met. MET stands for Mission Education Team. Beginning in September of 2008, MET set out with a special passion for bringing a greater awareness of missions to the body of Christ at Trinity Baptist Church. Within that passion lies the mission of MET. Some of the ways in which MET is attempting to accomplish this mission is by the following means:

  1. Prayer for wisdom and enabling: In the opening verse of Psalm 127 we are reminded that “Unless the Lord builds the house they that build it labor in vain.” We can do nothing good in our own power, and therefore we must pray to the Lord of the Harvest for wisdom and guidance in this huge task. Whatever else MET does, prayer must always come first.
  2. Promoting special missions offerings: Through the use of missionary speakers, MET seeks to promote special missions offerings—such as Lottie Moon or Annie Armstrong.
  3. Banquets and luncheons: MET desires to provide the kinds of venues where a missionary can be brought in to speak and engage in a time of Meet-and-Greet and Q & A, all with the end goal of acquainting believers more intimately with missions and missionaries.
  4. Highlighting individual missionaries each quarter: During each quarter MET intends to put forward a different missionary so that church members can intelligently pray for them, their families, their continent, their country, and their people-group.
  5. Class Mission Representatives: Each Sunday-school class has a volunteer CMR, who will keep his class current on the designated missionary, and help guide the class in prayer for him each Sunday.
  6. Make information about missions readily available to our church family via our church website, and printed hand-out material.
