Just Thinking
Can you believe how fast this year has gone by? Christmas is upon us. This Sunday, December 17, will be our annual “Cookies and Carols.” Bring your favorite Christmas snack to share with others as we gather at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Building for a time of fellowship and carol singing. The following week on Sunday, December 24, we will gather for Sunday School and morning worship and then return at 10:00 PM for our Christmas Eve service. That service is an informal service of Scripture, singing and special readings. It is a great way of bringing and end to the day’s activities and ushering in Christmas Day. I hope you will join us.
Then the following week, December 31, we will again just meet for Sunday School and morning worship. No evening service on the 31st but we will gather for New Year’s Breakfast on January 1. This is another annual event that is a sweet time of fellowship. Our deacons will prepare and serve breakfast. We will start serving at 8:00 AM and serve until 10:30 AM. This is a come and go as you please. There is no cost, so bring a guest or two or three. You are welcome to arrive at 8:00 and stay until we finish serving. However, if you eat the entire time, we may need to talk (I’m kidding). Holiday traditions are special, and these are some of my favorites, but it wouldn’t be the same without you. I pray that you will be a part of all that we do.
Join us for Bible study and worship this coming Lord’s Day. We’ve been considering the Christmas story and this Sunday we will look at Joseph’s encounter with the angel Gabriel. I look forward to seeing you and your family this Sunday.
