On My Mind...
Well, it’s here…VBS 2024! We start this evening, Monday, June 24 at 6:00 PM. The theme this year is “Breaker Rock Beach.†Our motto for the week is, “God’s Truth Never Changes,†and our memory verse is Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.†Pray for our leaders and our kids as we learn that truth comes from God. We will explore Genesis 2-3 and learn about other “voices†that we should not listen to. Day 2, we will look at the story of Daniel and learn that God’s plan is best. As God’s people we do not just do what makes us happy – we do what God has commanded and we discover true happiness. Day 3 takes us to the story of the Rich Young Ruler and learn that everyone needs Jesus. Being good doesn’t get anyone to heaven only faith in the Lord Jesus. Day 4 takes us to John’s Gospel, and we learn that Jesus is the only way to heaven. He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through him. Day 5 will remind us that, as God’s people, we are required to speak the truth in love. It is going to be a great week of fun, learning, music, crafts and games! Pray that the Lord uses this week to draw boys and girls to himself. Pray for our teachers and workers that they seek to love these children well. Pray that we will see the fruit of our labors this week.
Pray for our music search committee as they continue their work. Lincoln Beard is our chairman, pray for him as he leads and pray for the committee members as they prayerfully work through this process.
