On My Mind...
What a great service we had last night! I want to express my appreciation to Russell for all the work and planning he did for our Hanging of the Greens service. I’m grateful for all who participated. Thanks to the choir for their hard work and their wonderful singing. Thanks to Madysen, Susan and the children’s choir for making this a special service. Julie, Zac, Kylie and Rose, thank you for your service. Thanks to Rheadon for the decorations, all you who took part in “hanging the greens,” the children placing the poinsettias and all who attended, what a special evening! And thanks all who worked on the fellowship and for all who brought food. This was a great beginning to our Christmas celebration.
Don’t forget your gift to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This offering, taken each year during the Christmas Season, goes to support some 4000 missionaries serving around the world through the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. You gift enables our missionaries to work unhindered by the need to raise funds. They are free to focus on their work of taking the gospel to the nations. A portion of your regular offerings go to this work but this offering supplies roughly half of the IMB’s funding for the year. I ask that you prayerfully consider what you can give to enable the light of Christ to shine in our increasingly dark world.
The Lottie Moon Post Office is open for a couple of more weeks. Just use the mailboxes you see throughout the church and please check the table in the foyer to see if there are cards for your family!
Join us Sunday as we continue our journey through John’s Gospel. This week we will consider a couple of our Lord’s miracles from John chapter 6. I’m looking forward to worshiping with you as we gather this coming Lord’s Day. Have a blessed week, and I’ll see you Sunday.
