On My Mind...
Well, this has been an interesting time. I pray all are warm and safe. I’m in the office today (Tuesday), I got out of the house yesterday for the first time since Friday, boy, I’m I can old man or what? Sunday is the first Sunday of February, which means we will celebrate the Lord’s Table in worship and have a “First Sunday Lunch!” Of course, that’s if we don’t have another weekend like last weekend! Just a reminder, check the website and church app for weather-related information regarding services. That seems to be the easiest and most effective way to communicate. The plan, for now, is we will have our First Sunday Lunch on February 1.
Then on Sunday, February 8, we will have our regular activities on Sunday morning but Sunday evening will be our annual Souper Bowl Challenge. We will have a soup and chili cookoff and prizes for both categories. I trust you are tweaking those recipes as I’m typing. It will be a great evening of fun, fellowship and food…oh, and I think there is a game of some sort that evening as well.
Don’t forget the mission trip to Nicaragua June 9-16. We will be serving the girls at the Home of Protection, providing a two-day youth camp for area children and engage in some evangelistic outreach. Has the Lord placed this on your heart? If you have any interests at all, I would encourage you to talk with Maryem or Nathan. The Lord has opened a door for us to build a long-term relationship with Nicaragua and given us two great leaders for this work. If you can’t go yourself, you can give so that others may go. There will also be an opportunity to give to meet the needs of the work there. You will be hearing more in the days and weeks to come.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we continue our study of the book of Acts. Have a blessed week!
